Meet Cecelia Opatken-Ringdal

Meet Cecelia Opatken-Ringdal

Cecelia works as an editor and has over 10 years of teaching experience. She was a writing instructor for UC San Diego, where she led courses in composition, research methods, history, and literature. She holds an MA in History of Science from the University of Toronto where she conducted research and published articles about the global history of medicine. She also holds an English degree from McGill University in Montréal, where she served as an academic editor for publications in literature and cinema studies. She completed her undergraduate English degree with high honors, and maintained a 3.9 GPA throughout her graduate career. She has won numerous academic awards, including the Kosciuszko Foundation Year Abroad award which allowed her to study Polish language in Kraków. She was also awarded the University of Toronto Fellowship, which funded her MA in history of science. She is passionate about making writing and research engaging and interesting to her students, and loves to share her knowledge of history and literature. She is especially good at helping students craft excellent admissions essays and research papers.
