Frank is a junior studying Mathematics and Computer Science at Cornell. As an Eagle Scout, National Merit Scholar, and former captain of his varsity tennis team, he has ample experience lending his abilities to mentoring and motivating others in leadership, academics, and college counseling. At Cornell, he is a software developer with an undergraduate team that builds autonomous planes for competition; his latest work involved training and finetuning a vision model to detect objects of interest on the ground from 150ft. After finding and parsing open-source image datasets, Frank further refined the model by collecting and then manually classifying proprietary images with a replica plane to simulate competition conditions. Based on the plane's altitude and horizontal speed, this model is set to reduce the total object miss rate to below 0.06%. The edge nature of the model will soon allow the team to embed it directly onto the plane, circumventing the need to time-consuming calls to external vision models requiring an Internet connection. He will be interning at Jefferies next summer on their bond, currency, and commodity trading desks in New York. In his free time, Frank enjoys skiing, reading books, and playing tennis.
