Isaac has tutored chemistry and biology throughout both high school as well as college for the past five years. As an Illinois state scholar and AP scholar with distinction, Isaac’s multiple AP scores of 5 alongside his 1560 SAT and 35 ACT garnered a Chemical Engineering acceptance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Pivoting to pre-medicine and general Chemistry after one semester, Isaac is close to finishing his degree with a 3.97 GPA and multiple Dean’s List recognitions. After completing a summer undergraduate research internship at UIC in 2024, Isaac used his familiarity with immunological murine research to obtain his current research position in the Shen Lab at UIUC, where he currently assists with VOC testing research and electrochemical surgeries on mice. Isaac’s successful academic history has allowed him to gather experience as a private tutor for both peers and underclassmen, helping them approach historically difficult classes like organic chemistry, as well as a teaching assistant position in UIUC’s Accelerated Chemistry Lab course. Aside from his academic qualifications, Isaac is also an active member of his community, volunteering at Carle hospital and in student organizations like UIUC’s Health Analytics Society and Super Smash Bros. video game club.
