Jason teaches SAT, AP subjects, and mathematics, with particular strength in calculus, standardized test preparation, and building effective study strategies. With a 1560 SAT (790 Math & 770 English), he understands how to thoroughly prepare for the SAT. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a Business specialization and a minor in Health and Society at the University of Chicago, where he has earned recognition as a Quad Undergraduate Research Scholar, Jeff Metcalf Grant recipient, and Toxoplasmosis Center & Research Institute Special Scholar. Jason previously worked as a tutor with Abigail Hillman & Associates and Varsity Tutors, where he provided individualized instruction in SAT, AP coursework, and STEM subjects. In addition to subject mastery, he helped students improve through personalized cheat sheets, test-taking strategies, time management coaching, and structured study habits, while also tracking progress and communicating regularly with families. Beyond tutoring, Jason brings strong academic and mentoring experience from both research and healthcare settings. At UChicago Medicine, he conducts research on neurodegeneration and infection mechanisms, mentors junior students in lab techniques and scientific writing, and presents research papers weekly. He has also worked in dental clinical settings and contributed to academic research internationally, experiences that reflect his ability to explain complex material clearly and work closely with students from different backgrounds. With a DAT score of 470 (90th+ percentile), he has also been accepted into top dental schools in the US, including NYU, USC, BU, and UIC. With a strong academic record and a background spanning education, research, healthcare, and leadership, Jason is passionate about helping students grow in both confidence and performance. He believes effective tutoring should be personalized, encouraging, and focused not only on results, but also on helping students become more independent learners.
